The shelves at the Salvation Army food bank in Royal Oak are a lot fuller thanks to Central Leader readers.
Community ministries director Jason Dilger would like to thank everyone who dropped off donations of non-perishable food to the Central Leader office or to the food bank.
"We're really grateful. We work within the community to do the work we do. We couldn't do it without this support.
"We are purely the people who meet with those who need help. We like to think we bring people together in the community - those who are donating and those who are in need."
Mr Dilger says it's a great pleasure to be able to give a little relief to families in need at Christmas time.
"We are the conduit to bring people who wouldn't normally meet each other together in the community. It's kinda cool. I love that," he says.
Donations of non-perishable food are welcomed by the food bank all year round and can be delivered to 691a Mt Albert Rd.
