Tamaki MP Allan Peachey is likely to meet British Prime Minister Gordon Brown while he is in London representing New Zealand Parliament at the annual Westminster Seminar.
The 59th seminar runs from March 7 to 19 and covers parliamentary practice and procedure.
Mr Peachey says it is a great honour to be selected to represent New Zealand at the seminar.
"As well as the possibility of meeting the British prime minister there will be a reception for some of the delegates at Marlborough House in the presence of the Queen," Mr Peachey says.
"The seminar covers such topics as public expenditure, parliamentary standards, the role of the speaker, broadcasting parliament and engaging with the media, the role of parliamentarians and the financial crisis and regulation."
Mr Peachey will be back in the electorate from March 22.
