A 76-year-old tugboat has a new home on Auckland's waterfront after making its grand entrance over the weekend.
The William C Daldy is the last remaining tugboat of its type and was a familiar sight on the Waitemata Harbour before retiring to be moored at Devonport wharf.
An agreement reached between the William C Daldy Preservation Society and Waterfront Auckland means it can now be moored at Wynyard Quarter. It was delivered to Hobson Wharf West on Saturday to coincide with Wynyard Quarter's birthday celebrations.
Its arrival comes in the wake of moves by the 130-year-old ferry the Kestrel and the Whitbread around the world winning boat Steinlager 2 to the area.
