These young stand-up paddleboarders are taking part in the Starboard Paddle For Hope teams relay race on Saturday at Auckland's Viaduct Harbour.

The event was devised by breast cancer survivor Karin Horen to raise money for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation and promote the vital role of exercise in health, wellbeing and rehabilitation during Pink October.

"Come and have a go at stand up paddling, try some SUP yoga (floating on boards or on land), then join or watch the exciting teams relay race at 2pm in the Viaduct," Ms Horen says.

"Everyone dresses up in pink and some even decorate their paddleboards with crazy objects like pink flamingos - it's so much fun."

The children will be racing against media and sports celebrities including the All Whites, Team NZ sailors and some of our Olympians, including Polly Powrie.
