Pop down to The Villager in Remuera tomorrow for a special event in support of CanTeen.
The Lonesome Arts Showcase will feature live musical performances by up-and-coming entertainers as well as screenings of short films produced by students.
Event co-host Hohepa Hemara says it is designed to promote emergent Kiwi talent and help out a worthy cause.
"This is an event organised by students for students, even the performers are students, and the fact that we can help out a youth based charitable organisation makes it even better," he says.
Co-host Jonathan Killick says one reason for putting it on is that it's getting harder for new graduates to find jobs.
"I know people from arts backgrounds and event organisation backgrounds who just want some experience to get their foot in the door of the industry. If we can put on an entertaining night for the locals then it will have been a success. The point is that we did it ourselves," he says.
The entertainment runs from 6pm to 8pm on November 24.
"We're very excited. All things going well we would really like for this to become an annual event," Mr Hemara says.
