Makings of cardboard cathedral in Parnell
A 16m long cardboard tube will make an appearance at Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell tomorrow.
It's one of four such tubes travelling New Zealand as a fundraising initiative for the construction of the Christchurch Transitional Cathedral.
They will be on display in Auckland, Napier, Wellington and Dunedin so people can view the unique structure, learn about the project and make donations.
The much talked-about 'Cardboard' Cathedral was designed by world-renowned Japanese architect Shigeru Ban and is due for completion in early April.
