An Auckland barrister has died while on holiday in Adelaide.
Maurice Coughlan, who practised law from chambers in Parnell, died on January 10.
His friend and fellow lawyer Karen Harding said Coughlan had a heart attack at Adelaide Airport and did not recover.
"Maurice was really special to me, we were great friends. He was a wonderful supporter on my projects and provided much encouragement. I enjoyed his company and conversation."
She said he was a "walking thesaurus" and a "really nice gentleman with a good kind heart".
Harding said a funeral would likely be held on Saturday.
