A special guest star will add a bit of international sparkle to this year's Auckland Dressage Championships.
Nearly 200 dressage competitors from all over Auckland and the North Island will converge on the Clevedon A&P Showgrounds this Auckland Anniversary weekend.
They'll be contesting 15 titles across the three-day championship event.
But the highlight of the weekend will be the Grand Prix Musical evening on Sunday which will showcase some of New Zealand's best dressage talent and is always a crowd favourite.
It will be extra special this year with international guest star "Harold the Horse" in attendance.
He will show the audience, in his own humorous style, some of the movements they can expect see at grand prix level.
Harold has performed all over the world including Holland, Belgium, France and Australia.
People wanting to attend Sunday evening's event should be at the venue from about 4.30pm.
Harold the Horse will be performing after 5pm with the Grand Prix Musical starting at 6pm.
The competition starts at 8am on Saturday and runs all day that day and on Sunday. It concludes in the early afternoon on Auckland Anniversary Day.
Entry is free and there is food on site, trade stands and plenty of parking.
The event is organised by the Auckland Manukau Dressage Group.
