Anna Coddington is the latest musician to lend her support to the community action group Clevedon Cares.
The group has campaigned against plans to build nearly 300 homes on a canal development close to the historic heart of Clevedon Village since 2005.
And they’ve already had two fundraising concerts by Don McGlashen and the Topp Twins.
As well as singing backing for Bic Runga, Anika Moa and SJD recordings, Ms Coddington has performed in her own bands and recently with Fly My Pretties.
Her solo album The Lake was released in 2008.
"We’re hugely grateful to Anna for agreeing to perform live at the Clevedon Village Hall," says Clevedon Cares spokeswoman Mary Whitehouse.
"It’s fantastic to have the support of another great Kiwi artist in our efforts to preserve the unique character of our part of rural New Zealand."
The Environment Court completed a lengthy hearing concerning the canal project just before Christmas.
A decision from the Environment Court is expected by the end of March.
Anna Coddington will be joined at the Clevedon Village Hall on Wednesday, March 10, by talented Kiwi singer-songwriter Reb Fountain.
Concert doors open at 7pm. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased over the counter at the Clevedon Woolshed, online at www.underthe
radar.co.nz or by calling James on 292-9344.
Tickets may be available at the door if they’re not sold out in advance.
A cash bar and snacks are provided.
