Willams still on board
Michael Williams remains chairman of the Howick Local Board.
At yesterday's board meeting member Lucy Schwaner asked the board to discuss whether Mr Williams should take a leave of absence until court charges against him are settled.
The board voted 5-3 against discussing the matter.
Mr Williams is facing charges of drink driving and refusing to accompany a police officer in May 2012.
His case is due to be heard in the Manukau District Court on March 1.
Members Lucy Schwaner, David Collings and Adele White voted to discuss the leave of absence, whereas Wayne Huang, John Spiller, Jim Donald, Steve Udy and Shirley Warren voted against it.
Mr Williams abstained from voting.
