Life Education Counties Manukau's annual charity golf day is at Pukekohe Golf Club next Monday.

Harold the Giraffe and his golf-loving supporters will be fundraising to enable the charity to continue its preventative health messages in more than 20 primary and intermediate schools in the eastern suburbs.

Ambrose golf in teams of four will be played after a barbecue breakfast. Players will then head to the clubhouse for lunch, a guest speaker and auction.

"The continued support we receive from local businesses every year, whether buying a team, sponsoring a golf hole or donating prizes, is amazing," Life Education general manager Michelle Kidd says.

"With new people getting involved, we're able to grow this worthwhile annual community event."

Chatterbox PR is among the supporters of the day, and its director Jackie Russell says: "Our children's physical health, mental resilience and lifestyle choices are too important to be ignored.

"Life Education's proactive model that prevents problems resonates with me."

Life Education has been teaching children to make healthy choices and live life to the fullest for almost 30 years.

Kidd says these types of events help ensure Life Education's mobile classrooms can continue to meet an ever-increasing demand.

People interested in sponsoring or entering the golf day on March 13 can contact Michelle Kidd on phone 027 474 9998 or email michelle.kidd@lifeed.org.nz.
