Villa Maria Estate has again clinched the title of New Zealand Wine Company of the Year in a competition deemed the toughest for Australasian wines.
For the 11th time in 12 years the Mangere winery has been awarded the title by Australia's esteemed wine magazine Winestate.
"Ten years of retaining this important title was a great milestone for the company but to have now moved into a second decade is truly exciting," says Villa Maria owner and managing director Sir George Fistonich.
The title capped off a good month for Villa Maria - it also collected 15 gold medals in the Air New Zealand Wine Awards.
