To celebrate its first birthday Formula E Indoor Raceway in Mangere is giving locals the chance to race against A1GP driver Johnny Reid this Sunday.
Called Race for Reason, all racing will be at half price for the whole day and all proceeds will go to charity organisation Kids in Cars.
Starting positions for the race against Reid are being auctioned off. Fifth to ninth are being auctioned on TradeMe, while pole position through to 4th are up for grabs on the day starting at noon.
Included are five warm-up laps, three 10-lap heats and one 15-lap final.
To race, drivers must be over 1.4 metres tall, no heavier than 120kg and must wear closed footwear.
Also organised will be a celebrity race which includes Vodafone Warriors players, a hot rod display, barbecue and a bouncy castle.
The Formula E Indoor Raceway Race For a Reason event is on at 36 Ascot Rd in Mangere from 10am until late.
