Keeping kids smokefree
Relevant offers
A free DVD on how to keep kids smokefree is going out to all parents of Kedgley and Papatoetoe intermediate school students.
The Our Choice, Their Future DVD is being released by Keeping Kids Smokefree – a three-year Auckland University project that investigates whether teenagers are more likely to smoke if their parents do.
It aims to research successful strategies to get kids to stop their parents smoking.
The DVD features Eroni Clarke and Stacey Morrison and contains tips on reducing the chances of children becoming smokers.
Our Choice, Their Future can also be hired free from local video stores in Papatoetoe and Mangere.
Keeping Kids Smokefree will be operating in the area this year and will be helping parents who want
to stop smoking, reducing the number of children who start smoking and the supply of tobacco to minors.
Tips for reducing the chance of your child smoking include parents being smokefree themselves and having a smokefree home and car.
