Non-stop sustainable transport around Auckland is now just a click away.

The Auckland Regional Transport Authority has set up an online calendar of sustainable transport events around the region.

General manager Mark Lamber says sustainable transport helps to reduce congestion and pollution while it contributes to the health and wellbeing of the community. "There are many worthy and fun events that encourage and support Aucklanders in stepping up to the challenge of travelling sustainably during the course of the year," he says.

Coming up is the Official 10,000 Steps programme in April, the Ride of Silence in May, and July is Rideshare Month.

As well as details on how to get involved, the calendar will include numbers participating in each event and the reductions in car use as a result.

The calendar is inspired by the Travel Wise programme, which the authority says takes 7436 cars off Auckland's roads each day during morning peak traffic.
