You never know what surprise is in store at Papakura town centre - be it a flash mob haka or streetside singers.
Town centre manager Kathleen Lindesay says she'd like to see more people busking in the town centre, including musicians, kapa haka and dance groups.
"I want some arty creative talent to come to Papakura - it brings that real vibrancy and community feel."
Lately shoppers have been regaled by the tunes of reggae musician Sam Jose, who's been out singing to "liven up the town centre".
He says he does it just to make people smile.
Buskers need to get permission. Go to the council buildings at 3 Coles Cres, Papakura, or contact Ms Lindesay, 298 8996 or ppitowncentre@ gmail.com for information.
