Community groups that help make Auckland a better place to live are invited to seek funding.
Applications close on February 28 at 5pm for the strengthening communities fund and local board community funding.
South Auckland groups are invited to apply for the grant funding from Auckland Council that supports community orientated projects and activities.
The Strengthening Communities Fund supports activities that encourage bonding and participation.
It covers projects and activities involving the arts, youth, disability, older people, recreation, information and organisations providing support and training to other groups.
Groups that aren't an incorporated society or registered charitable trust must apply under the umbrella of an organisation that does.
All South Auckland local boards also have community funding budgets to distribute to projects, groups and activities in their areas.
They favour innovative projects that involve or help a broad cross-section of the community and meet the priorities set out in their local board plans.
There will be workshops for community groups to attend about the local board community funding.
Go to aucklandcouncil. govt.nz for more information on the funding.
