If you fancy sex at the beach this summer, best head to the East Coast.

Queenstown folk also like to get out of the house, with 80 per cent of respondents from the area saying they  had tried outdoor lovemaking.

The information is contained in the latest instalment of results from Adulttoymegastore.co.nz's Mega Kiwi Sex Survey.

Of the 1500 people who took part in the survey, 71.5 per cent said they talked about sex with their partner, with 44.7 per cent saying they used a phone to talk or text their partner in a sexy manner.

Gisborne was the most talkative place, with 94.4 per cent of respondents from the area talking to their partners about sex.

The internet was also playing a role in New Zealanders' love lives, with 90 per cent of Whanganui respondents saying they watched online pornography with their partner.

Vibrators were used by 70 per cent of survey respondents, well above the worldwide vibrator usage of 21 per cent found in research by company Durex.
