Firefighters from around the nor-west and further afield spent hours battling a blaze in a pine plantation in Helensville on Sunday.
The fire on a Higham Rd property started at about 9.50am and spread to the trees from a controlled burn-out when the wind changed.
More than 100,000 litres of water was used from two tankers and monsoon buckets.
Rodney's restricted fire season starts on December 1 and members of the public must have a permit to light a fire on their property.
