Television personality and comedian Te Radar is back in the neighbourhood to help the Riverhead Scouts.
He is performing his latest show Eating the Dog at the Riverhead Citizens Hall from 7.30pm tomorrow night.
All profits will help the group get to the International Scout Jamboree at Mystery Creek in December.
Memorabilia from the Riverhead Tavern will also be auctioned off.
New owners Paula and Stephen Pepperell are refurbishing the historical facility and have donated items including a toilet seat, a couch, chalk drawings, a sign and pictures.
Te Radar, also known as Andrew Lumsden, has a soft spot for the area where he spent four months filming Radar's Patch for TV One. The Scouts helped work on the place he stayed in.
"They've been real good to us," he says.
Te Radar is busy touring the country with his latest show which includes quirky tales about Kiwi history.
"A couple of really good stories of our criminal folklore and of course some about politicians," he says. "The great uranium rush of the 1950s – no one really ever speaks about that."
Te Radar also had a stint living in Kaukapakapa while making the TV series Off the Radar.
The show's lineup includes 120 photos, images and maps.
Call Shawn on 412-9500 or Bruce on 412-5114 for tickets to the fundraiser.
