A Kaipara College touch team is preparing for a national tournament with a fundraising match.
A Festival Touch game between Kaipara College's senior mixed team and a Festival Selection will be played on October 27 at the Helensville school, teams assemble at noon.
The festival team is organised by Kaipara College old boy and former national men's touch representative Ngarimu Blair.
The Kaipara team beat Mahurangi College to win the North Harbour title and both sides qualified for the nationals in Hamilton in December.
Coach Innes Kerr-Taylor says raising the funds to get to the tournament is a challenge in itself. So the festival match and associated activities will be a fundraiser.
A food sale and raffles are planned.
"We are hoping to get as many supporters as possible to come and view the match," Kerr- Taylor says.
"Especially older ex- students who might like to come and have a look around the school, as the facilities have changed dramatically over the past five years."
