A video about Kaipara College students surviving their own Hunger Games has earned an "adventure of a lifetime".
The school is one of seven to win scholarships to visit the Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre of New Zealand.
Ten students will participate in a five-day adventure programme at either Tongariro or Great Barrier Island.
The grants came through the Genesis Energy and OPC's Student vs Wild competition.
Students nationwide made a video to explain how they would survive for one week stranded in their school grounds without food, shelter or assistance from the outside world.
The winners were decided by public voting and a judging panel.
