Caring hearts from the Riverhead community are helping a family with a fundraiser.

Dave Curtis is currently battling a brain tumour and his children's school is helping contribute to an art auction for him on November 12.

A handmade quilt has been designed and pieced together by year 7 and 8 students Isabella Marin-ovich, Shaye Harkin, Chloe McKnight, You Ming Yang, Finn Andrew, Blake Wilburn, Jaxon Norris, Maddie Cleveland and Kelly Manigsaca. People can also bid on paintings by nor-west artists like Donna Massey, Barbara Honeycombe and Peggy Crosby and a donated print by photographer Trevor Gamon.

The event is at The Riverhead, based in the boat house.

Mix and mingle from 5pm onwards with free live music provided by nor-west musicians and supporters before the auction begins at 7pm.

The bar and burger shack is open for dinner. Raffles and a donation box will be available.
