The search is on for performers keen to take the stage at Pasifika Festival 2013.
Event organiser Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development invites interested parties from across the Pacific to audition for parts in the massive two-day free event being held at Western Springs on March 9 and 10.
"We are always excited to see what the application process unveils," festival producer Ole Maiava says.
"For many, the festival provides a kick start to their careers," he says.
"We're looking for emerging artists who share the spiritual and cultural values of Auckland's Pacific peoples."
The Pasifika Festival provides visitors with an opportunity to experience traditional and authentic food, craft, dance, music and art from the Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Niue, Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga, Tokelau, Tuvalu and Aotearoa.
Open auditions are being held on November 29 from 6pm to 8pm at the Western Springs Community Hall, 956 Great North Rd, Western Springs; and December 1, 10am-3pm, at the Panmure Community Hall, 7-13 Pilkington Rd, Panmure.
Overseas and non-Auckland performers are exempt from the audition process and will be chosen from submitted material.
