Chill out with the Muriwai Environmental Action Community Trust at the last monthly seminar for the year.

There will be a screening of the New Zealand made film The Last Ocean on December 5 at the Muriwai Fire Station.

The 7.30pm event is open to all with the film seen the station's huge Plasma screen.

Meanwhile, the trust needs a new plant nursery volunteer manager.

''Our plant nursery is an integral part of our 2013 planting plans and we have some big projects for planned next year,'' trustee Phelan Pirrie says. ''We're looking for a volunteer with a keen interest in plant propagation who could help put together and manage a team of horticultural enthusiasts.''

Next year's plans feature a special run of its newsletter for all Muriwai residents, a major re-vegetation project and a community composting project.

There will also be a joint effort with other community groups to put together a submission on Auckland Council's Unitary Plan.

For inquiries about being a volunteer for the plant nursery contact Phelan on either 021 844 124,  411 8847 or emailphelan@muriwai-environment.org.
