The fate of a clean fill dump proposed for Kumeu is poised in limbo.
Independent commissioners are deciding whether to grant resource consent for a clean fill tip on Attwood Farm in Pioneer Lane, Kumeu.
The commissioners for Auckland Council have asked for more information after a four day hearing last month. They are seeking a desktop peer review on all geotechnical information provided to the hearing held by the democracy services unit of Auckland Council. The council has two weeks to finish the review.
The commissioners have also requested more geotechnical information from applicant Neill-Attwood Joint Venture which wants to carry out a clean fill operation at 61 Pioneer Lane.
Worrall Rd farmer Doug Thode and neighbours are battling the proposed development near his Worrall Rd property in the nor-west. The site could take up to 370,000 cubic metres of clean fill in 15 years, Mr Thode says.
Residents claim quality of life will be stripped if the tip is approved.
About 50 opponents spoke at the hearing last month in Kumeu and Waimauku.
