16:00, Feb 13 2014
ALL IN: Megan Minton, left, will bring dog Brady and Monica Grimshaw has her miniature horse Trinity ready for Saturday’s charity walk. Both help manage the Platinum Community Care centre in Red Beach.

A charity fun walk to raise funds for the Respite New Zealand Trust is in Orewa tomorrow.

Participants can even use scooters, wheelchairs, skateboards, bikes or pogo sticks.

A 15.38km walk starts from the Estuary Arts Centre at 8am, with a 7.58km walk starting at 9am.

Rodney MP Mark Mitchell will officially start the walk.

Families are welcome, and people can wear fancy dress or bring pets if they wish.

The Respite New Zealand Trust was formed in 2011 after the success of the Platinum Community Care centre in Red Beach, a pilot project providing respite care for those with dementia or the elderly.

The trust's goal is to advocate for those who care for others on a national level, and establish quality, affordable respite care at a local level.

Contact Monica or Megan on 09 421 1511 for walk details.
