A marauding pit bull terrier that bit three people on Auckland's North Shore has finally been caught by dog-control officers.
Since the attacks near the seaside Bayswater Park last month, the tan-coloured dog has been spotted several times, but when approached, has run off into bush and mangroves.
An Auckland Council spokesperson said a tip-off this morning led officers to the dog. The owner had surrendered the dog to council which was considering prosecution.
