Supercity survey

A council survey of 750 Shore residents will seek their views on the Auckland supercity legislation.
The council plans to use the results when it presents its submission to the select committee hearing submissions on the legislation.
Councillors heard a poll would cost $10,000 to $35,000 depending on the research method and sample size.
Officers warned the potential risks were that many residents might not hold strong views and the result might not reflect the council’s own view.
Councillor Lisa Whyte said the council would be better off giving the money it was going to spend on the poll to community groups.
