Even though Rachel Hunter lives a million miles from the North Shore she still calls it home.

The Los Angeles resident came to New Zealand on a week’s tour to promote the latest season in her fashion line at the Warehouse including a show at the Albany store.

Ms Hunter says she always enjoys her time back home but is not ready to come live here yet.

"This is where I grew up. I can’t come back right now though I’ve got my kids back in LA," says Ms Hunter.

Although she says her favourite place to visit on holidays to New Zealand are Milford and Takapuna.

"I grew up in Glenfield but I love the beaches, I’m a real beach girl," says the former Glenfield College student.

Ms Hunter saw a gap in the New Zealand fashion market four seasons ago and approached the Warehouse with an idea to set up a line of clothes exclusively to the shop.

"I wanted to bring fashion into a market and make it affordable for everyone," says Ms Hunter.

Her label features casual clothes with this season focusing on a Bohemian look. The Albany Warehouse appearance also included an opportunity for a free fashion makeover by Rachel Hunter as well as a signing session.

The supermodel is a long way from where it all started with a Tip Top commercial in 1986 at 17 years old.

Now she has an international modelling career under her belt with top fashion magazines featuring her as cover model as well as appearing in television sitcoms and music videos.

The Warehouse Rachel line has items ranging from $29 to $119.
