A night of boxing and entertainment is being held on the North Shore to raise money for Samoan tsunami victims.

The event will feature 14 title fights including a professional heavyweight bout between Isikeli Ma'ama and Gogo Ulutoa.

It will also have an exhibition match between former Warriors captain Monty Betham and New Zealand middleweight champ Daniel Mackinnon.

The event, organised by Eagle Academy and the North Shore Boxing Association, will be at the North Shore Events Centre next Friday.

Organiser Mac Tofilau says boxing champion David Tua will be at the tournament to support the Pacific tsunami fundraiser.

"David is supporting this event and we have Michael Jones and Inga Tuigamala coming over as well to support us," he says.

Mr Tofilau says there will also be entertainment during the evening, with performances from the Yandall Sisters, Reform Dance Group and Lapi Mariner, the voice of the Pacific.

He says proceeds will benefit Pacific Island communities devastated by the tsunami.

"This is a big and exciting boxing tournament for a worthy cause and we are working together to make the difference for the tsunami victims," he says.

Mr Tofilau says pre-sold tickets are $25 or $30 on the door from 6pm.
