Brawling and all boozed up

Police are warning party-goers to act responsibly after three serious attacks in one weekend recently.
Each separate incident involved an unprovoked assault and in one case a large brawl, North Shore police senior sergeant Rod Fraser says.
"The underlying feature in all three of these incidents was the excessive consumption of alcohol which lead to people making poor decisions and others being physically harmed," he says.
A number of arrests were made and one victim required hospital treatment for a fractured jaw and eye socket, he says.
Police are hoping that as the weather warms up and Christmas festivities begin that people will enjoy themselves but exercise common sense around alcohol intake and their behaviour so everyone can have a good time.
"People's lives can be changed forever in a microsecond with one ill-conceived act."
