Actions 'defy logic' say police

Three drunken teenagers who pulled up next to a police van and started swearing at the officers have been labelled "dumb, dumber and dumbest" by North Shore area police commander Les Paterson.
"The three Stooges had nothing on these guys," he says.
"They say alcohol blocks out inhibitions and this incident appears to support that claim."
Late on Thursday night, the North Shore tactical policing unit was travelling along the motorway near Albany in a marked police van.
A vehicle with three youths drove up next to them and they leaned out the window, yelling obscenities and making derogatory gestures to the police officers.
It defied all logic, Mr Paterson says.
The whole time the driver was continuously sounding the horn, he says.
The police officers shortly afterwards spoke to the vehicle's occupants at a nearby service station and arrested all three.
The driver will face charges of driving with excess breath alcohol and driving while disqualified and the passengers will face disorder related charges.
The youths are all in their late teens and from the North Shore area.
They will appear in the North Shore District Court next week.
