School celebrates adult learners

English Language Partners North Shore is celebrating Adult Learners Week with a joint function with their south Auckland branch.
It will be on Saturday at the Fickling Convention Centre on 546 Mt Albert Rd, Three Kings, from 10am to noon.
Shore manager Birgit Grafarend-Watungwa says the event with English Language Partners South Auckland will have Defence Minister and North Shore MP Wayne Mapp as guest speaker.
Dr Mapp, who is also associate minister for tertiary education, will present awards to a number of learners and tutors from both the Shore and South Auckland centres.
"This is a great and important opportunity for our organisation to promote our work to the minister as currently Tertiary Education Commission provides us with the bulk of our funding," she says.
