A new night market will put Glenfield on the map as a destination, Paul De Jonge says.
The Auckland Night Market manager says it is building on the huge success of the country's first night market in Pakuranga which has been going for a year.
"There was such a huge demand for it on the Shore," he says.
The market will feature around 200 stalls including 60 food stalls many at restaurant quality.
Stallholders will be a mixture of locals and Auckland-wide residents.
Glenfield is the second suburb on the Shore to house a night market. The Takapuna night market began in September with around 30 stalls selling everything from gourmet foods and beverages to jewellery and art.
The Glenfield night market launches on October 30.
It will run on Sunday nights from 5.30pm to 11pm in the first floor carpark under Westfield shopping centre by the leisure centre.
