Seven North Shore houses have been judged as among Auckland's top properties.
The homes are among winners in the Auckland Registered Master Builders PlaceMakers 2012 House of the Year.
Top prizes went to a grand home on Waiheke and a renovation in Remuera.
A Birkenhead renovation by Knowles Building Services Ltd was the highest placed North Shore home, picking up gold in the over-$500,000 section.
It was among 22 gold award winners from the Auckland region that will be in the running for the national gold reserve finalists, due to be announced in September.
National category winners, PlaceMakers Supreme Awards for the Renovation of the Year and the House of the Year will be announced at a gala dinner in Auckland in November.
Other Shore winners at the Auckland competition were: Bay Group Construction, bronze winner in the $250,000 to $500,000 renovation category for a Bayswater house; Jalcon Homes, JAL Construction, silver winner in the $350,000 to $450,000 new homes category for a Milford home; Haven Building Concepts and Sika Homes Ltd, silver winners in the $600,000 to $1 million new homes category for Castor Bay houses; Landmark Homes North Auckland bronze winner in the $1m to $2m new homes category for a Takapuna house; Bay Group Construction Ltd, silver award winner in the builder's own home award for a Hillcrest house.
