LOVE YOUR BODY: Daniela Gonzalez-Bea is passionate about combating the factors that lead to eating disorders.

Daniela Gonzalez-Bea has seen girls as young as 11 with potentially deadly eating disorders such as anorexia or bulemia.

The North Shore Women's Centre worker is in the business of trying to prevent teenage girls from developing eating disorders.

In her line of work she meets huge numbers of young girls with negative body image.

"If you walked down the street and asked girls, about eight of 10 would have negative body image.

"It's a lot easier for girls to name 10 things they don't like about themselves than 10 things they like about themselves," she says.

Nationwide statistics show 79 percent of girls don't like their body.

International surveys have shown many girls are more scared of getting fat than nuclear war, terrorism or global warming.
