A pair of top chefs will be serving diners on the sands of Takapuna Beach for one night only to raise money for environmental charity Sustainable Coastlines.

Pop Dining founders Ben Barton and Andreas Eggmann will be taking their kitchen to the beach where they will serve a three course meal including fancy fish and chips to 100 diners.

All profits will go towards Sustainable Coastline's efforts to clean up New Zealand beaches.

The event on February 7 is the latest pop up restaurant event from the Devonport based duo.

Mr Eggmann and Mr Barton founded Pop Dining after spending years overseas catering to wealthy clients on superyachts and large European villas.

Pop Dining takes under-used venues in Auckland and transforms them into themed restaurants for "public dinner parties".

Mr Barton says the events are a way to use food as a "medium of change for social good".

The menu for the Takapuna beach event will feature dishes like shellfish and corn fritters and kumara scaled black snapper with spinach, salt, lemon and butter.
