Police are concerned for the safety of an Okura woman who has been missing for more than a week.

Lesley Alexandra Rimington, 51, was last seen at her Okura River Rd home late afternoon on Wednesday February 5.

Detective Senior Sergeant Stan Brown has been working with Browns Bay Police to locate her after her husband reported her missing.

She is described as being of slim build, with short blonde hair and is around 168cm tall.

There have been no reported sightings since her disappearance eight days ago, Mr Brown says and she is not believed to have her phone or wallet with her.

Mrs Rimington is believed to be driving a red 2001 Subaru Legacy with alloy wheels, black roof rails and a tow bar.

The registration number is AHY719.

Mr Brown says she is thought to have three dogs with her.

It is not known what clothing she was wearing at the time she went missing.

Police are speaking to Mrs Rimington's husband this morning and intend to release more information as it comes to hand.

Anyone with information is asked to call Browns Bay Police Station on 478 1705 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
