Earthrace owner, skipper and project CEO Peter Bethune will give a public address at the Kerikeri Club tomorrow at 7.30pm.

A $10 charge will go into a fund for a new boat for Bay of Islands Coastguard.

The futuristic Kiwi-built boat Earthrace, which set a 60-day around-the-world record last year, is on a tour of Northland. The boat, which runs on biodiesel and has a zero carbon footprint, has just returned from Australia and is now cruising New Zealand to promote the use of biofuels.

It is expected to approach the Stone Store from the Kerikeri Inlet tomorrow morning. From Kerikeri it will head south to Tutukaka and Whangarei.
