Construction is under way on the sports complex at Kerikeri.

Earthworks in preparation for the construction of nine netball courts at the Kerikeri Sports Complex is moving ahead rapidly and work is expected to start within the next two weeks on construction of the 1200 square metre multicode clubrooms to service the adjoining sports fields.

The two contracts with a combined value of close to $3.15 million are scheduled to be completed and the facilities ready for next winter’s sports season.

The civil and earthworks contract which includes the netball courts, an emergency helicopter pad, associated earthworks, fencing, up to 240 car parks, bus parks and footpaths is being carried out by HEB Construction and the design and build contract for the multi-sport clubroom and associated facilities has been let to TW Henwood Builders.

The new buildings will include a 320sqm multi-code function room, kitchen and canteen facilities, accommodation for match officials, expansive toilet and shower facilities and storage rooms.
