Police seek dark blue Legacy in fatal crash

Whangarei police are keen to hear from anyone who saw a dark blue Subaru Legacy station wagon being driven from Warkworth to the Brynderwyn Hills on February 28, prior to the vehicle being involved in a fatal head-on crash.
It was one of three vehicles involved in the crash, which occurred about 3.20pm on State Highway 1 on the Whangarei side of the Brynderwyn Hills.
The 27-year-old driver of one of the vehicles died in the crash and a 29-year-old male front passenger received serious injuries.
The 39-year-old driver of the Subaru Legacy was flown to Auckland hospital in a critical condition.
The two occupants of the third vehicle were not injured.
Whangarei police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash and has not been spoken to.
