The popular Te Kopuru Performing Arts Festival is set to blow the cultural and wider communities out of the water again this year with its cross-section of colourful entertainment.

To be held at Te Kopuru School, on Saturday, November 21, it promises to deliver something for everyone. It starts with a powhiri to welcome people to the event at 9.30am.

At 9.50am West Highland Pipe Band, 10.05am Te Kopuru School Choir, 10.15am Powershot, 10.30am Te Kopuru School Ukulele Roopu, 10.45am Dargaville Primary School Kapa Haka. At 11am Kumarani Circus will perform, 11.20am Dance Duo, 11.30am Dargaville Intermediate Kapa Haka, 11.45am Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Takiwira.

Then at noon Te Kopuru School Teina Kapa Haka will perform items, followed at 12.15pm by the Bayly’s Beats.

Lunch is at 12.30pm to 1pm, then 1pm the Air Training Corps will perform, followed at 1.10pm by Te Kopuru School Pakeke Kapa Haka and then at 1.30pm Undercover. At 1.45pm Selwyn Park Kapa Haka will be on, 2pm Te Kopuru Community Kapa Haka, 2.20pm Dargaville High School Kapa Haka, 2.40pm Dalmatian Club.

A variety of food is available in the food hall and visitors are reminded that Te Kopuru School is a smoke free zone. Officials ask that the school be respected in this matter.
