The movies are back this weekend and locals are being treated to an exclusive premier.

Dargaville Cinema Trust member Josie Scott says it is the first cinema in New Zealand to be able to showcase the movie The Cake Eaters starring Kristen Stewart from the hit movie Twilight.

"Film distributor Arkles wanted to support us in our endeavours to open up a movie theatre in Dargaville so they gave us this exclusive."

The trust will be holding the second movie weekend at the Kumara Box this weekend and it is expected to be just as successful as the first.

"The last movie weekend was such a huge hit we had to bring it back," says Ms Scott.

"We showed four movies and three of those were sold out and the other was well attended."

It is about getting the interest and support up and getting more people on board."

Typical movie fare will be on offer with icecreams, popcorn and extra jaffas to cater for demand.
