It's time to get your skates on to celebrate two years of Skatescool by Northern Skaters.

The joy of skating will be shared by all with a roller disco held at Huanui College on December 8 from 5pm.

Skate teacher Brigitte Legendre says she has had a great two years discovering Whangarei, teaching about 200 adults and children.

Brigitte is from France and used to skate for transport but says the schools here are amazing.

The event on Saturday will include a whole range of entertainment including games, competitions and prizes - all on skates of course. The event is open to all ages and all levels of skating with lots of skates available.

Entry is $5, $3 for skate hire and $1 spectators. There is free entry if you have your own skates and wear a Northern Skaters shirt.
