If you have not received an $80 tax-free credit on your December power account then you had better give Northpower a call.
The early Christmas present was for electricity consumers in Whangarei and Kaipara courtesy of the Northpower Electric Power Trust.
It was allocated to the 54,900 power installation control points connected to the Northpower network at midnight on December 18.
Trust chairman Eric Angelo says customers who do not receive the credit on their next power account should call the trust information line on 0800 434 100.
"Just so people understand, the trust owns Northpower on behalf of the electricity consumers of the Kaipara and Whangarei districts and the distribution is the customers' share of Northpower's profits paid to the trust by Northpower," Mr Angelo says. "2012 has been a pleasing year with the progress Northpower has made.
"Revenue lifted from $217.5 million in 2011 to $242m this year and profit lifted 11 per cent to $9.6m in the same period."
Consumers also benefit annually from a line holiday paid by Northpower to consumers. Earlier this year that credit totalled $5.3m.
The $80 credit will appear on December power accounts regardless of which electricity retailer consumers are with.
