Pop open your sun umbrella, plonk down your picnic blanket and prepare to listen to some live local music.
It’s all happening at Clevedon’s jazz, wine and food festival this Sunday.
Based at the Log Cabin on North Rd, the festival is now in its second year.
The festival is jointly run by the Clevedon Lions Club and helps raise money for the Clevedon Volunteer Fire Brigade and the Scouts.
Clevedon Lions president Geoff March says last year’s event was "fantastic".
"We expected 600 people and we got 1800," he says.
"We were over the moon about it."
The festival showcases local wine and food and event organiser Adam Dickson says there will be more than 50 exhibitors – some popping straight over from their morning’s trading at the popular Clevedon farmers’ market.
Other exhibitors include a boutique beer maker and a slushie machine that will be churning out ice-cold margaritas.
For the children there’ll be a merry-go-round, giant slides and bouncy castles.
Classic car enthusiasts are also encouraged to bring their cars and there will be helicopter rides taking in the scenic sights around Clevedon and Kawakawa Bay. Mr March says there’s also a chance the Ardmore-based Warbirds will do a fly-by later in the day.
Live music will be supplied by the North Rd band – previously called the Clevedonaires – Smooth Azz Jazz and the Clevedon Blues Revue.
The festival runs from 1pm to 6pm at the Log Cabin, 442 North Rd, Clevedon. Children get in free and adults are $5. There’s plenty of free parking in the paddock next door.
