21 road names decided today
Twenty-one new road names for a new section of the Addison housing development in Takanini are to be decided today.
Auckland Council rules dictate that the Papakura Local Board has the final say on naming roads in the subdivision, which is on the west side of Porchester Rd.
The developer chose themes of gum-digging, Maori shellfish, early settlers and aviation, all important to the Takanini area.
The final names are expected to be Kauri Heart Ave, Arion Rd, Gum Spear Rd, Soaring Bird Drive, Takanini School Rd, Aviation St, Wairepo St, Karokaro Rd, Ketu Way, Taukari Rd, Hopuni Way, Hollowout St, Treestump Rd, Hakaro Way, Willow Camp Rd, Biplane St, Rere Close, Aero Place, Flight Place and Peat Way.
The board will vote at its business meeting today. It is at 4.30pm at 35 Coles Cres and is open to the public.
