SAFETY CAMPAIGN: Saatchi and Saatchi has compiled a display showing the car a microsecond after the explosion.

The impact of two cars colliding head-on at 120kmh is the equivalent of 10 grenades.

Saatchi and Saatchi took that literally, blowing-up a Mazda Eunice on a property in Helensville with the power of 10 grenades to demonstrate the destruction.

Every piece of the vehicle was collected and reassembled in its position just a microsecond after the explosion.

The car was assembled during the last six days in a Silverdale warehouse.

The Rodney District Council is using it as part of a road safety campaign, and Saatchi and Saatchi will use the footage for a television commercial.

People can view the display during the weekend between 10am and 2pm at Unit C, 70 Forge St, Silverdale.
