Pro Voce tunes up for Xmas concerts

CHRISTMAS CHOIR: The Pro Voce choir has booked early Christmas performance dates at Huapai and Puhoi.

Pro Voce choir is getting into Christmas early to avoid the rush.

The choir performs for the first time in Puhoi, on November 29 at the Puhoi Community Hall, and again on November 28 at St Chad’s in Huapai, commemorating 16 years. Both concerts are at 7.30pm.

Traditional carols are supplemented by The Truth From Above, Sussex Carol, O Come O Come, Silent Night, Deck the Halls, and a lively version of the well-known Shaker hymn Lord of the Dance.

With accompanist Sharon Bradley-Reed, two of John Rutter’s popular and tuneful carols are included, balanced by the thoughtful Mary’s Song by local composer Claude Buchanan.

There will also be several readings appropriate to the season.

Entry is $10 adults, $5 children.

A light supper will be served.
